Practical case:
1. Accidently deleted a bunch of pictures in Canon digital camera and want to recover them back for they are classmate union party photos and really precious.
2. Your 4GB SD card suddenly stopped to work. It was impossible to read it both in your laptop card reader and in the Nikon digital camera. When you tried to read it in either of them, you received an error message stating that the card was unreadable and should be reformatted
